ALBAWABA - A Gaza fisherman recently went viral on social media after a picture of him circulated carrying a massive dolphin in his arms. The situation in question arises due to Palestinians suffering from food shortages amid the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.

According to Roya News, the dolphin was later cooked and distributed as food to residents in Khan Younis, Gaza. One resident added, "We don't have food, we'll eat what's there." Unlike claims being made across social media that the man fished it out, the dolphin was found dead on the beach in a town called Al Qarara, located in North Kahn Younis.

Several pro-Israel accounts took to platforms like Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) and expressed their discontent with cooking the dolphin to feed starving Palestinians.

On the contrary, pro-Palestine activists slammed back by bringing up the time Israel imposed a full blockade on Gaza denying Palestinians clean water, food, medicine, daily necessities, and humanitarian equipment.

One pro-Israel account on Musk's X wrote, "Savages!!!" To which someone replied with, "If fishing is savage, what is protesting to release Israeli rapists then?"

Another added, "You people dehumanized Palestinians so much to the point that you debate the life of a dolphin over the lives of Palestinians that are starving to death! If you care so much about marine life why aren’t you criticizing Israel? Don’t you know their bombs destroy marine ecosystems?"

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of at least 46,584 Palestinians and injuring more than 109,731 since Oct. 7, 2023.
