ALBAWABA - Dozens of drones were spotted over parts of New Jersey raising speculations about whether Iran sent them from a “mothership” off the East Coast.

A state lawmaker by the Department of Homeland Security revealed the fleet of drones was unable to get detected or exposed by traditional methods such as helicopter and radio, the Associated Press reported.

However, a source in the Pentagon refuted the claim that the drones were sent by Iran using a "mothership" off the East Coast. Spokesperson Sabrina Singh said: "There is no truth to that."

The spokesperson added that the claim about an Iranian base is incorrect as "there is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States and there is no so-called 'mothership' launching drones towards the United States."

In a post on X platform, Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia detailed that the drones were up to 6 feet in diameter and amid parts of their trip they were traveling without lights.

Since November, multiple unrecognized objects have been seen in the skies especially in New Jersey increasing fear among officials and residents in the American state.

AP further noted that some drones which were spotted across New Jersey are bigger in size than the ones usually by hobbyists.
