ALBAWABA - Elon Musk and his platform X (formerly known as Twitter) are the talk of social media after replacing verification company AU10TIX with Stripe. Has Stripe also been linked to Israel?
Pro-Palestine and human rights activists quickly took to X and expressed their joy about the matter since AU10TIX is allegedly linked to Israel only to find out that Stripe is no different.
One user said, "Just when we thought we had a W against the digital technocratic hellscape on X after Elon agreed to remove the verification company AU10TIX that is tied to Israel we discover that Stripe, is in fact, tied to Israel! They really do have their tentacles into EVERYTHING. Elon Musk is sneaky for this one."
Elon Musk replaces AU10TIX with Stripe on X, still linked to Israel?
Despite many accounts celebrating the change after claiming that AU10TIX sends their information to Israel, others found it hard to trust Stripe.
Brics' official X account said, "Users can now monetize their X accounts without submitting sensitive information to Israel," as one replied, "Please don't trust them."
User Morgan Ariel posted a screenshot on X linking Stripe to Israel as the company has invested in Palestinian-occupied lands including sales and support operations. Moreover, according to C Tech, Stripe has also invested in Israeli companies including the fintech company Rapyd.
Pro-Palestine people have been trying their best to boycott products and services linked to Israel due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of at least 37,718 and injuring more than 86,377 of whom are children, elderly and women.
The boycott is done to hinder Israel's economy and to stop its ongoing aggression on Palestine in general. Moreover, many users are encouraging others globally to support local businesses including coffee shops, restaurants, and brands instead of visiting Starbucks, McDonald's, and many more.
