ALBAWABA - A month ago, Egypt was shaken with the horrific crime of a woman killing her husband and his six children in the village of Dalija in Minya Governorate.
According to local media, a criminal court in Minya, southern Egypt, ruled on Saturday, in the presence of witnesses and by unanimous opinion, to sentence the woman to death by hanging after receiving the Mufti's opinion and seeking the legal opinion on her execution.
The tragedy in the village of Dalija began last July with mysterious symptoms affecting the children of the family one after another.
At first, as unexplained illnesses escalated into a series of deaths, which ended up in the passing of six children and their father within just two weeks, amidst widespread controversy surrounding the causes.
Investigations later revealed that the victims' stepmother was behind the tragedy, having poisoned bread laced with a toxic substance within the home itself. She confessed to the crime, fearing her husband would return to his first wife.
