ALBAWABA - An Egyptian woman killed her five-year-old son using an axe, whereas she hit his head with three blows. Shen then dismembered his body to hide her crime, according to what was revealed by the Public Prosecution Office in Egypt.

On Tuesday, the Public Prosecutor ordered the referral of the perpetrator, Hana Mohamed Hassan, to the Criminal Court, after it was proven that "she was free of any psychological or mental disorder, and that evidence gathered that she had committed the incident."

"The investigations concluded that the woman premeditatedly killed her five-year-old child, out of fear that her divorced husband would keep him away from her," said the Public Prosecution.

According to the information circulated, the Egyptian woman has been separated from her husband for more than two years.

After obtaining custody of the deceased child, she lived with him in a dilapidated house in Faqous Center in Sharkia Governorate, northeast of Cairo, where the crime occurred.

The Egyptian police had arrested the perpetrator before burying her child's body parts.

Although it was proven that she did not suffer from any mental illnesses, some of those close to her indicated that she was mentally disturbed after the divorce, "and that this is what prompted her to commit that crime."
