ALBAWABA - An unconfirmed report emerged online claiming that Egyptian-Lebanese astrologer Laila Abdel Latif died.

Social media reports allegedly claimed the death of Laila Abdel Latif, 66, who is widely known not only in Lebanon but in the Middle East for predicting world events.

Meanwhile, other fake reports claimed that the Lebanese astrologer could be going through a health crisis and she is keeping it a secret.

Despite the spread of the rumor online, many took the chance to make fun of it by saying: "Laila predicted many things, but she failed to predict her own fate."

What's the truth behind the alleged "death" of Laila Abdel Latif?

The official Facebook page of Laila Abdel Latif released a statement denying the "false news" about the astrologer.

It wrote: "Fake news is spreading on some social media sites, stating that she is going through mysterious health conditions and other false news. Mrs. Laila Abdel Latif is fine, thank God, and is not going through any health condition."

It maintained: "These fake sites live on fabrication and lies and will be prosecuted," and also added that those pages which spread such rumors are only looking for more engagement and social media interaction by faking the news.
