ALBAWABA - Social media platforms have been buzzing with the allegation that Iran has launched a special website to offer a huge bounty for any person who assassinates US President Donald Trump.

Posts have gone viral online claiming that Iran has released a new Fatwa calling for the killing of Donald Trump after he insulted Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the last Tehran-Tel Aviv war, which lasted for 12 days.

Photos also accompanied the posts, reportedly showing the US president with a red target sign on his forehead, along with $21,878,524, which is the alleged money collection that would be given to Trump's assassin.

Did Iran launch a website offering money for Trump’s assassination?

According to JFeed website, a senior ayatollah reportedly close to Khamenei issued a fatwa explicitly calling for Trump’s assassination, calling him an "enemy of Islam". It added that no official statement was made by Iranian authorities regarding the website and the bounty. However, intelligence officials in the West have warned that this could be a real threat.

On the other side, a clip of Mr. Emami, head of the Islamic Propagation Organization in West Azarbaijan Province, went viral after he declared that whoever brings the head of Trump, he will be offered a reward of 100 billion tomans ($23,740).

However, Iran’s Islamic Propagation Organization made an official statement denying involvement in setting a bounty on Trump.

The organization’s head of public relations Ali Moradkhani wrote on X, "With all due respect to the anti-arrogance sentiments of the dear people of Iran and their heartfelt wish to hear news of the death of General Qassem Soleimani’s killer, we must make it clear that the Islamic Propagation Organization has no program or plan involving a bounty or similar action as circulating online," as reported by Iran Front Page website.
