Almost three weeks into the Dubai Expo 2020 events, several world leaders have been visiting the global event held in a Middle Eastern country for the first time ever.
The latest famous figure that has taken a public visit to the different pavilions included in the international conference is the former president of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is considered amongst the most extreme of Iran's leaders since the Islamic revolution in 1979.

Ahmadinejad who took office between 2005 to 2013 is most famous for his strong support of his country's nuclear aspirations, being amongst the hardline voices that called for it over many years. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is also known for his radical stances against Israel, having openly expressed his rejection of the notion of a Jewish state.
People close to #Ahmadinejad deny this claim and say the ex-president didn’t visit #Israel’s pavilion at #DubaiExpo2020 . A telegram channel close to Ahmadinejad says channels & accounts affiliated with “infamous security apparatus” have spread this lie. https://t.co/G3CvvQvmuU

However, his latest visit to the United Arab Emirates has stirred many rumors that he had visited the Israeli pavilion at Expo 2020. While none of the photos shared online showed the former Iranian politician with Israeli people, flag, or symbols, some social media users insisted that he did indeed visit the venue.
Director of #Ahmadinejad’s communication office tweets “rumors against the ex-president are made up by security apparatus, first they spread ‘he wants to stay in Dubai’ and now he’s visited #Israel’s pavilion. This images was taken outside Vietnam pavilion.” https://t.co/W3ER3mIlGk

Meanwhile, pro-Ahmadinejad social media users accused his political rivals of "spreading the rumor" to harm his political career, saying that his stances against Israel have not changed after he left the presidency.
