ALBAWABA - A school book in Lebanon promoting LGBTQ views through a series of family drawings took the internet by storm after the Lebanese side of social media expressed their anger and dissatisfaction about the matter.
According to An-Nahar News, The book in question showcased several parents with their children but some had two mothers or two fathers which according to users "Promotes homosexuality" towards their children. Additionally, LGBTQ matters are considered highly frowned upon in several parts of the Middle East including Lebanon which is why this caused quite a stir on social media.

Images of the book circulated on social media platforms such as X (formerly known as Twitter) with the hashtag #Family_Drawing written in Arabic making it trending on the Lebanese side of X.
Lebanese activists called and demanded action from the concerned authorities in protest of promoting homosexuality to children in Lebanon's schools.

On the other hand, social media users claimed that this was only an "unintended error" and was supposed to depict families who have lost loved ones including death and divorce, or a grandfather or grandmother staying with the family in one house.
It was a matter of time before the school in question issued an apology and stated that it was an unintended error, stating that it wanted to give children who lost their father or mother and became orphans. The school administration added:
"We are committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church, Christian principles, and morals."
Meanwhile, a judge named Joelle Abu Haidar who is responsible for Juvie cases and more summoned the teachers responsible to a hearing and said, "It is considered an encouragement to sexual deviance that is inconsistent with moral values, ethics, and the laws of nature."
