ALBAWABA - In a bid to counter criticisms regarding his age, US President Joe Biden has released a video addressing American voters, asserting his vigor and dismissing concerns about his age. The video, which comes amidst ongoing discussions about his fitness for office, also highlights achievements made during the tenure of former President Donald Trump.
Entitled "Biden's Challenge to Age Skeptics," the video sees President Biden taking center stage for his election campaign, where he humorously brushes off suggestions of being too old for the job before delving into substantive issues.
"Despite what some may say, I am not a young man, but that doesn't define my capabilities," Biden asserts, addressing concerns about his age head-on.
"Very young, energetic and handsome. Why am I doing this?" he adds, injecting a note of self-assurance into his response.
The video follows a string of surveys indicating that a significant portion of American voters doubt Biden's mental acuity due to his advanced age and occasional lapses in recalling names and events.
"I have led this country through the challenges of the coronavirus crisis, and today, we stand with the world's strongest economy," Biden states, countering doubts about his ability to lead effectively.
According to polling conducted by The New York Times, a majority of American voters—73% to be precise—believe that Biden's age could hinder his effectiveness as president. Biden, however, uses the video to challenge these perceptions.
"Despite my age, I am fully capable of tackling the issues that matter most to Americans," Biden declares confidently.
Meanwhile, despite being the oldest president seeking re-election, Biden's closest rival, former President Donald Trump, who is 77 years old, remains just four years younger.
"Over the course of four years, Donald Trump attempted but failed to pass crucial infrastructure reform. I have succeeded where he faltered. Now, we are focused on rebuilding America," Biden concludes, underscoring his commitment to the nation's progress.
