ALBAWABA - Controversial American lawyer and columnist Ben Shapiro is under fire across social media platforms after recently claiming on his show that retirement is stupid and he never understood the need to do it.

The video in question had Ben saying "Nobody in the United States should be retiring at 65 years old. Frankly I think retirement itself is a stupid idea…" which caused quite a stir among Americans on X (formerly known as Twitter) making the controversial figure trending on the platform.

Here's what some users had to say about the matter:

"This individual has never experienced manual labor, yet advocates for hardworking Americans to toil endlessly so our taxes can fund Israel".

"We give Israel $10 million per day, and they have subsidized college and universal healthcare. People like Ben Shapiro want to keep this up, but they’ll also tell you that socialism sucks".

"You just want us to work like slaves for Israel".

On the other hand, USA Today's Rex Huppke stood by Shapiro's opinion on the matter and stated that he had long planned to keep working until his last breath till he dies on a laptop while working.

Ben Shapiro went to add on his official X account as he referenced his controversial video, "Yes. If you are mentally and physically healthy, taxpayers should not pay you to retire at 65. When Social Security was created, life expectancy was 64. Today, it's 78."

This all took place on The Ben Shapiro Show which was broadcast on DailyWire+ and the video in question was about two minutes long.
