ALBAWABA - Rumors have filled social media platforms after former US President Barack Obama was spotted having dinner with an unidentified woman.
A video circulated on social media reportedly showed Obama at a restaurant in Washington D.C. where he travelled to attend the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump scheduled on Jan. 20.
Controversial social media personality Matt Wallace was one of the first to post the clip of Barack Obama and wrote: "Barack Obama attended a private dinner in a secluded room at Osteria Mozza in Washington, D.C., accompanied by an unidentified woman. Where is Michelle Obama?"
Many people also questioned why was Michelle Obama missing. However, the former US first lady confirmed earlier that she will miss the Trump ceremony on Monday. Despite that, some said she should have accompanied her husband to Washington D.C.
Claims spread following the video, in which Obama appeared alone despite rumors that an unidentified woman was accompanying him, allegedly spreading allegations that Obama and his wife Michelle "are heading for a divorce".
A person commented: "Michelle, who turned 61 on Friday, did not attend with her husband. After weeks of speculation that perhaps the most famous marriage in politics was in trouble, Barack posted a fawning tribute to the 'love of his life,' on Friday."
Food editor at The Washington Post posted the picture of Obama along with the caption: "Here’s a pic of Obama at Osteria Mozza tonight".
What also triggered more suspicious thoughts about Obama and his wife was that Michelle also didn't attend the state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter.
Despite rumors and allegations, no official sources reported anything about the married life of Barak Obama and Michelle, nor did any statement made from the former president or his family.
