American actor Johnny Depp topped the list of the most searched person on Google, followed by his former wife Amber Heard, who came in third. Depp and Heard drew attention this year, when Depp sued his ex-wide for defamation.
American actors Will Smith and Chris Rock ranked the second and fifth respectively. Both were the focus of global attention following Oscar's unforgettable incident, where Smith slapped Rock after the latter made a joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Russian President Vladimir Putin came forth on Google's list with suggestions that the rank was due to Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, which began on Feb. 24.
