ALBAWABA - Activists online took to social media to decry the nomination of former US president Donald Trump to a Nobel Peace Prize over his "historic" Abraham Accords in 2020.

Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y. was the one who nominated the ex-president of the United States to get a Nobel Peace Prize for "facilitating the first new peace agreements in the Middle East in almost 30 years."

In a statement, Tenney told Fox News: "For decades, bureaucrats, foreign policy 'professionals', and international organizations insisted that additional Middle East peace agreements were impossible without a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Trump proved that to be false."

The nomination of Trump has triggered wide anger among pro-Palestinians and many activists who claimed that Donald doesn't deserve to get a Nobel prize.

A social media user said: "Trump is not a president and he sure doesn’t deserve any Nobel prize. He can barely name 5 things out of 6."

Another commented: "Didn't this lead to 10/7?", meanwhile, a netizen maintained: "Sorry, but Donald Trump has never been nominated for a Nobel Prize and he never will be. Whoever told you that has lied to you. Nobel Prizes are for intelligent men and women."

On the other hand, many supported the nomination of Trump to a Nobel Peace Prize; "HELL YES!! Over and over and over again!!" and "TRUMP DESERVES IT," people wrote on X.
