ALBAWABA - An online campaign was launched on social media to call for boycotting the upcoming concert of the famous Egyptian rock band Cairokee scheduled in Jordan.

Cairokee concert is expected to take place in the Jordanian capital Amman on May 31, after it was postponed last October due to the deadly war in Gaza.

Last year, the Friends of Jordan Festivals Association shared an apology and announced the postponement of the Cairokee concert (with an opening performance by the Jordanian band Octave), which was scheduled for Friday, October 13, 2023, in Jabal al-Qalaa in Amman until further notice due to the current events taking place in Palestine.

Pro-Palestinian activists took to X to call people in Jordan to boycott the upcoming event due to the Israeli-aggressive war in Gaza, which started on Oct. 7 killing at least 34,971 Palestinians, mostly women and children.

An X user said: "A Cairokee concert in Amman in a few days.. Be ready to cut ties with your friends who will attend in this situation." Another commented: "What is happening is a shame, and such concerts should be boycotted before products that support Israel."
