Abu Obaida: Attacks on Israel to escalate during Ramadan

ALBAWABA - According to X (formerly known as Twitter) and Hindustan Times, Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson Abu Obaida allegedly stated in his speech on Friday, Mar. 8, 2024, that Hamas attacks on Israel will only escalate further in the holy month of Ramadan. 

In addition, Abu Obaida reportedly added that humanitarian measures are non-negotiable anymore as he accused Israel of "deceiving and evading" during its talks while as of recently, Hamas has been engaging positively with its speeches.

The statement also addressed the ongoing efforts for a prisoner exchange, emphasizing the importance of a complete cessation of aggression and the withdrawal of enemy forces as a precondition. Abu Obaida's remarks underscored the urgency of addressing the humanitarian crisis affecting their people, including shortages of food and medicine among prisoners.

Al-Aqsa Flood and Gaza Now

By the time of writing this article, Israel's ongoing aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7 has resulted in the killing of at least 30,878 Palestinians with more than 72,402 injured and at least 22 dying from malnutrition. 

Hamas announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel making it the biggest offensive by the group in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip, captured military bases, and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel while others were seen paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
