2 missing children found dead after Israeli airstrike in Lebanon

ALBAWABA - Two children from Beirut, Lebanon were killed by an Israeli airstrike amid the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Comments from human rights activists quickly swarmed social media outlets including X (formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram.

News circulated across social media and local news outlets that Amira (6) and Hassan Fadlallah (10) went missing due to the barrage of airstrikes by Israel in southern Beirut yesterday Jul. 30, 2024, only to be later found dead.

Social media users took to different comment sections discussing the incident in question and wished the children's family condolences: 

"May their pure and beautiful souls rest in peace." 

"My heart aches...They will be birds in heaven." 

"They found these angels holding hands, it's extremely heartbreaking..."

Yesterday, Israel bombarded one of the largest residential neighborhoods in central Beirut, marking a significant escalation in the conflict. According to local security sources, Israel was targeting senior Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukr whose fate remains to be unknown. 

By the time of writing this article, Israel has resulted in the killing of 4 Lebanese citizens and the injuring of 74.
