More than 230 expats were arrested in Muttrah for violating the labour and residence law, the Royal Oman Police announced on Monday.
The arrests were made as part of a joint campaign between various police units in Al Hamriya.

In a statement, ROP said: “The Muscat Governorate Police Command, supported by the Special Police Task Force in Seeb and some supporting formations carried out a campaign to arrest the infiltrators and violators of the labour and residence law in Al Hamriya area in the Wilayat of Muttrah.”
As a result of the campaign, “234 violating expats were arrested,” the police added
Legal proceedings have been taken against the arrested.
