ALBAWABA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday that Ukraine will begin importing gas from Greece to help meet winter energy needs, as the country’s infrastructure continues to come under regular attack from Russia.
Notably, Zelensky arrived in Greece today in a European tour that will also take him to France and Spain, where he is expected to discuss defense and energy issues, according to his spokesman Sergei Nikiforov.

It is worth noting that Moscow recently launched its largest bombing campaign against Ukrainian gas facilities since the start of the 2022 invasion, cutting off around 60% of the country’s gas production—a critical source of heating.
Zelensky stated that Ukraine will begin importing gas from Greece in an effort to compensate for production losses caused by Russian strikes.
According to the Ukrainian government, Russian bombing last winter cut the country’s gas production by half. Moscow’s targeting of Ukraine’s power grid, which began in the fall of 2022, has triggered widespread outages and left millions without heating during severe winter temperatures.
