The Zayed Center for Coordination and Follow-Up (ZCCF) has released a study entitled “Water Resources in Syria.... Facts and Aspirations”.
The study, which deals with the water crisis in the Arab world, believes that Syria might be the most affected by a severe scarcity of water resources amongst Arab countries. This indicates that since Syria is an agricultural country, it has no adequate economic options in the foreseeable future.
It is because of this that food security has become one of the most major goals of Syria's hydro agricultural policy. The first two studies that ZCCF had issued dealt primarily with the issues of water in the Middle East and Arabian Gulf region, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM). (Albawaba.com)
