At least 33 worshipers were injured, six seriously, in al-Amriah Mosque in Amran governorate, an official said on Friday. Governor of Amran, Taha Hajir, told Saba that unknown men engendered fire in the mosque, leaving behind more than 30 casualties who were admitted to hospitals in the governorate.
According to local security officials, the police were investigating to find out the motives behind the "criminal act". The AP reported Yemeni police arrested three men Saturday suspected of setting fire to the mosque.
