Yemen's Foreign Minister Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Kurbi will officially visit the United States during the first week of February.
The Sana'a-based September 26 newspaper, published Thursday, quoted informed Yemeni sources as saying that Al-Kurbi's upcoming visit to Washington comes in response to an invitation extended by US counterpart Colin Powell.
It added that Al-Kurbi is scheduled to hold talks on issues related to Yemen-US relations, especially in the field of "combating terrorism" and strengthening security cooperation.
The report also said talks in Washington are also expected to focus on the Middle East peace process and the importance of US support in implementing the so-called Road Map, in addition to developments in Iraq. (Albawaba.com)
