Yemeni forces loyal to the Houthi rebels claim to have fired ballistic missiles at Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, Reuters reports.
"The Yemeni army fired a Scud ballistic missile toward Jizan," Houthi-run Al Maseera TV reported on its Twitter page.
Residents of Sanaa also claimed to have heard the loud roar of rocket fire early Wednesday morning.
Since March 26, a Saudi-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes across Yemen against the Houthi fighters in a bid to restore power to fugitive President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.
So far approximately 4,500 people, including more than 400 children, have been killed in the conflict.
