Dubai-based golfer Yasin Ali will is aiming to bounce back from his recent Asian Tour setback when he tees off in the Macau Open tomorrow.

Ali, who is sponsored by Hertz UAE, wants to make up immediately for missing the cut in the GS Caltex Maekyung Open in Seoul a fortnight ago and get back on track for a top 15 finish on the Order of Merit.

“I broke my driver on the practice round in Korea a few minutes before I was due on the tee for the second round,” he said. “I also struggled on the greens which were incredibly fast and difficult. In fact I saw someone five putt for the first time.

“But to be honest I was really just a bit jaded after four weeks on Tour, with a lot of travelling. When the hotel is an hour or more from the course, and you’re teeting off at 6am, you have to be up at 4am to, and that’s tough.”

Refreshed by a week’s break in Dubai, Ali is looking to reproduce the form which brought him three top ten places on the Asian Tour last year.
