Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid has called on its citizens not to travel to Turkey and to cancel their planned trips there amid Iranian threats and the rising tension between the two countries, The Jerusalem Post reported.

The warning has come following a report by Israeli and Turkish security forces saying they have foiled attempts to kidnap Israeli officials and travelers during their stay in Turkey.

Tensions between Israel and Iran has been on the rise. Israel had earlier issued a travel warning to Turkey, fearing a possible Iranian attack on its citizens in reprisal for the assassination of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps senior commander Hassan Sayyad Khodaei, whom Israel is accused of killing.
