ALBAWABA- Elon Musk’s social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, suffered two outages on Monday, affecting millions of users across the world.
According to Downdetector.com, the first outage saw over 21,000 reports of disruptions in the U.S. and 10,800 in the U.K.
The platform was down for approximately 45 minutes before resuming normal operation around 2:30 a.m. PT. However, later in the day, X experienced another brief outage.
The latest disruptions add to a series of technical issues since Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in October 2022, during which he laid off about 80% of the company's workforce.
Previous outages included a major one in August 2024, affecting app and server functionality, and a March 2024 crash during Ron DeSantis’ Twitter Spaces event announcing his U.S. presidential run.
