Worldwide demand for in-building wireless and strategic partnerships propel MobileAccess' growth
Enterprise wireless solutions provider expands international business; Mobile WiMAX offering exemplifies product innovation
MobileAccess, a leading global provider of enterprise wireless solutions, has announced record performance in 2007 with equipment sales growth of nearly 50 percent and continued profitability. MobileAccess cites increased worldwide demand for its Universal Wireless Network solution, product innovation and strategic partnerships as the driving forces behind its accelerated growth. Enterprise companies increasingly view wireless applications and services as must-have capabilities, so they are adopting the MobileAccess solution strategically, knowing that its adaptable architecture will keep pace with future wireless innovations.
“MobileAccess’ investment in key areas has advanced growth across vertical and geographic markets, fueling our increased revenue and profitability in 2007,” said Cathy Zatloukal, president and CEO of MobileAccess. “With industry leading partners, such as Sprint and GE Healthcare, and a roster of customers that represent some of the world’s most technologically advanced buildings, MobileAccess has established a solid foundation for rapid and sustained growth and innovation.”
As part of its aggressive international growth strategy, MobileAccess expanded its operations and sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to address bourgeoning worldwide demand for its Universal Wireless Network solution, particularly in rapidly growing areas such as Eastern Europe and the United Arab Emirates. With an established footprint of state-of-the-art facilities such as airports, hospitals, hotels, manufacturing plants, office buildings and sports venues, companies and wireless service providers worldwide recognize that MobileAccess’ Wire-It-Once™ technology ensures a future-proof wireless infrastructure and supports diverse wireless requirements.
Along with international expansion, MobileAccess continued to build on its momentum in key vertical markets such as healthcare and hospitality. In 2007, the company deployed its Universal Wireless Network at some of the nation’s leading medical facilities such as Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, George Washington University Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania Health System’s three hospitals.
At the same time, MobileAccess significantly increased its presence in the hospitality industry, where wireless has become a vital tool for enhancing the guest experience and streamlining operations. Reflecting that trend, Grande Lakes Orlando resort and Peppermill Hotel Casino implemented MobileAccess throughout their respective properties in 2007, enabling over two million square feet of wireless coverage. In 2008, MobileAccess plans to work side-by-side with hoteliers and applications vendors to drive converged networking solutions through industry organizations such as the Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) Forum.
In 2007, MobileAccess continued to lead the industry in product innovation with a new class of solutions that feature increased intelligence and smarter antenna technology, positioning the company for the more complex wireless service offerings of the future. In particular, the company introduced and deployed the first, integrated in-building solution for Mobile WiMAX. The MobileAccess WiMAX module seamlessly integrates with the company’s Universal Wireless Network offering customers a cost-effective migration path to the latest technology entering the market. Correspondingly, MobileAccess joined the WiMAX Forum® to ensure interoperability and to boost awareness within the industry that a low-cost, high-performance solution is available to ensure high-quality indoor coverage for Mobile WiMAX.
The company announced further portfolio expansion with an enhanced Wireless LAN (WLAN) solution which provides a simpler path for enterprises to deliver WLAN services over the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network. Customers can apply the same, familiar WLAN design rules they have already mastered to their MobileAccess deployment – enterprise customers can seamlessly transform their WLAN designs into multi-service wireless solutions. This transparent approach helped MobileAccess expand its WLAN ecosystem in 2007, with approvals from leading WLAN equipment and applications providers including Aruba, Ascom, Colubris, Meru Networks, Polycom and Trapeze.
