Cherfane, Tawil & Co (CTC), the exclusive distributors of Samsung electronics in Lebanon, celebrated the end of 2009 and the advent of the New Year in style by carrying out one of the biggest giveaway promotions of the year with over 2000 valuable gifts and sponsoring the baking of the largest Buche de Noel in the world.
CTC-Samsung is running an impressive, one of a kind promotional campaign for the New Year festive season. Lottery tickets give customers a chance for an instant ‘scratch and win’ of over 2000 Samsung sizeable prizes, as well as enter them in a raffle draw to win one of five all expenses paid trips for two to the Carnival in Venice, Italy, in February 2010. This amazing campaign is being advertised on television, radio, outdoor and the web at www.samsungctc.com/VENICE/.
Also, as part of the end of year festivities, CTC-Samsung sponsored an event initiated by Mr. Jean Hawa, president of the Jounieh festivities committee, for the production by 220 Lebanese chefs of a potential Guinness Book entry for a 208 meter-long Yule Log Christmas cake (Buche de Noel), which took place on December 20, at the al-Markazia College in Jounieh. Under the direction of Moulin D’Or bakery, the cake had a 20/22 centimeters diameter, 40 meters of branches and weighed 3131 kilograms. A number of regional and national VIPs, including the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Fadi Abboud and MPs Sheikh Farid el-Khazen and Gilberte Zouein, as well as members of the media, along with Guinness Book of World Records representative, Mrs. Chantal Tohme, attended the event.
