ALBAWABA - According to sources who spoke to CNN, senior US officials have mostly ceased pushing hard for the ceasefire talks in recent days after concluding that there is no hope of putting an end to the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza.

A senior official close to the White House summed up the situation among some officials participating in those ceasefire talks saying: "We can't want this more than they want it, even if President Joe Biden and his advisers refuse to give up on the endeavor completely".

Israel's recent attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon this week have added another degree of complexity to the Biden administration's practically halted work on ceasefire negotiations to end the conflict in Gaza, the source stated.

Earlier today, the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported that Israel is preparing for a possible ground invasion in Lebanon, following days of steep escalation.

Over the last couple of weeks, Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging strikes and attacks, in which Israel managed to kill top Hezbollah commanders while in return the Lebanese group managed to target key Israeli sites.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that 10 people were killed in Israeli strikes on Wednesday, including two rare strikes in mountain areas outside Hezbollah's traditional strongholds in the south and east.

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 41,495+ people, with more than 96,006+ injuries.

Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
