ALBAWABA- Following the lead of the United States, Spain, Italy, and Greece have announced the temporary suspension of services at their embassies in Kyiv on Wednesday, citing an "increased risk of airstrikes throughout Ukraine."

Spain's embassy informed its nationals in Ukraine via email about the closure, urging them to seek shelter to protect themselves from potential attacks, according to the Spanish daily Ultima Hora.

The Greek Embassy issued a statement advising its citizens to avoid travel and remain in safe spaces, attributing the closure to "security reasons."

Similarly, the Italian Embassy called the suspension a precautionary measure in response to warnings from the US Embassy. It advised Italian nationals in Ukraine to immediately seek the nearest shelter in case of an airstrike.

The US Embassy in Kyiv had earlier announced its closure, citing credible intelligence about a potential large-scale air attack on November 20.

Embassy staff were instructed to shelter in place, and US citizens were urged to prepare for air alerts, monitor updates, and follow local authorities' guidance.

These alerts come a day after Ukraine reportedly launched long-range US-made ATACMS missiles targeting Russian territory, escalating tensions in the ongoing conflict.
