Twenty people were lightly wounded on Friday when Israeli forces dispersed protests against the Hebrew state's separation fence in the occupied West Bank, medics said.

14 protestors, including Palestinian and Israeli peace activists, were hurt after troops fired rubber bullets and tear gas to break up a demonstration in the village of Bilin, medical sources and witnesses told AFP.

Another four Palestinians were injured in further clashes between protestors and Israeli soldiers in Qalandiya, which has been severed from Jerusalem by the wall. At Bethlehem, Israeli forces broke up a third demonstration against the barrier, injuring two Palestinians, medical sources said. Later clashes erupted between young Palestinian stonethrowers and Israeli soldiers at the entrance to the town, witnesses said.
