West Bank: Fetus dies as mother critically injured by Israeli fire

A 6-month-old fetus died Thursday and his mother was critically injured when Israeli troops shot her in Ain Beit Elma Refugee Camp in Nablus, medics and witnesses said.

 

According to WAFA, medical sources said that a gunshot penetrated from the back of Maha Qatoni 30, to her uterus killing the fetus. The uncle of the pregnant woman, Ribhi Qatoni, said that she was in the bedroom when she was hit by the Israelis.

 

Later, Israeli occupation forces arrested a child and a woman in the West Bank, Palestinian security sources said. According to them, the Israeli troops arrested Mohye Shahrori 14, in Ain Beit Elma refugee camp. Another Palestinian, Ahmed Dwaik, was arrested in the camp, the sources added.

 

In the meantime, Israeli soldiers arrested Samira Fawaghreh 25, near Ramallah. She was heading to visit her brother who is detained by Israeli troops in Ofer prison near Ramallah, the sources conveyed.
