The audience at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) was last night thrilled with the fantastic performance by legendary music star Sir Tom Jones. With a fan base spanning over three generations, Sir Tom Jones was greeted warmly by the adoring crowd, welcoming him to the city of Abu Dhabi for the first time.
As part of the singer’s current world-wide ’24 Hour Tour’, the 70 minute performance included new material like ‘Sugar Daddy, penned especially for Jones by U2’s Bono and The Edge. The crowd were also treated to old favourites such as ‘It’s Not Unusual’, ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’, ‘What’s New Pussycat’ and ‘Delilah’ which were received by choruses of approval.
The 4,000 strong crowd were delighted by his incredible stage presence and stunning full stage and lighting production, as well as the strength of his voice – cementing his iconic status as one of the world’s most talented and loved musicians.
John Lickrish, Managing Director of Flash commented,
‘‘The level of support and excitement for Tom Jones’s performance in Abu Dhabi has not surprised us in any way. Last night’s performance was fantastic and a great way to bring something new to the city which appeals across generations.
‘‘By inviting such a massive international musician to the city to perform a fantastic variety of songs in our first ever indoor concert, the month of April has been very exciting for Flash and a great way to start the summer.’’
Sir Tom Jones’ performance in Abu Dhabi follows a brilliant year for Flash Entertainment, having brought names such as Shakira, Rihanna, Beyonce, Coldplay, Kings of Leon and The Killers to the capital. This event marks another accomplishment for the company with their first ever indoor concert.
Flash Entertainment will shortly be announcing another indoor gig which will see a popular UK rock act come to ADNEC on 17th May. This will bring yet more diversity to the level of world-class entertainment bought to the city by Flash.
The Tom Jones, live in Abu Dhabi show was held in partnership with official talent bookers, Live Nation.  The concert’s diamond sponsor was Aldar, Du was Official Telecommunications Partner, Marina Mall was Exclusive Mall Partner while Synaxis Media was Digital Partner.
