ALBAWABA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home in Caesarea was hit by a drone fired from Lebanon on Saturday morning, causing a massive explosion, according to government sources.

The office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement claiming that "A drone fired from Lebanon hit Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home directly." Israeli media extensively covered the loud explosion that resulted from the event.

Despite continuous Israeli military helicopter chase throughout its flight, the drone detonated upon impact near Netanyahu's home, according to Israeli news agency Walla.

Additionally, Channel 12 disclosed that Netanyahu and his spouse were not at their residence in Caesarea at the time of the assault.

After the explosion, Israeli police quickly blocked access to the drone attack site for media outlets and blocked a number of routes in Caesarea.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority further said that the drone struck a building in Caesarea after traveling around 70 kilometers from Lebanon.

This development coincides with rising tensions after Hezbollah attacked many Israeli towns and settlements with missiles and drones.
