Wataniya Airways Appoints New Chief Commercial Officer to Support the Airline’s Next Growth Phase
CCO David Evans brings more than 30 years of international aviation industry experience to the airline
Wataniya Airways, Kuwait’s new premium service airline, has announced the appointment of a new executive staff member to further strengthen the company’s established management team. David Evans has been appointed as Chief Commercial Officer, bringing over thirty years of international expertise and experience to the airline.
Commenting on the appointments, Wataniya Airways Chief Executive Officer, George Cooper said: “I am delighted that David Evans has joined our team as he brings with him a wealth of commercial aviation experience that will support us as we progress to the next phase of our planned development in the region and help us to become the airline of choice for the sophisticated Kuwaiti traveller.”
Mr. Evans previously held the position of Chief Operating Office at Zambian Airways, where he was appointed by the United Nations under the UNDP programme to establish the airline as a viable carrier. Prior to this role, Mr. Evans honed his aviation skills over thirty years inside British Airways where he advanced his career to Managing Director of BA Connect followed by Managing Director of BA CityFlyer.

Wataniya Airways commenced its commercial flight schedule at the end of January 2009 and now flies to a range of popular Middle East destinations, including Dubai, Beirut, Cairo and Bahrain. Additional destinations will be announced in due course as the airline’s third Airbus A320 aircraft is expected by the end of May which will facilitate further expansion of routes.
