Voting in Parliament elections starts in Kurdistan

Baghdad / NINA / -The general voting process for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections began at 7:am, Sunday.

Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Region, cast his vote as voting began at 7 am, while President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid will cast his vote at the Rashid Hotel in central Baghdad at 10: am.

1091 candidates in the region of both sexes are competing for 100 seats, including five quota seats for components.

The total number of voters in the region is about 2.9 million voters, of whom 215,960 voted in the special ballot, while the remaining voters, numbering about 2.7 million, will vote in the general ballot today./ End
