An Egyptian study has confirmed that 85 percent of the voodoo clients in the country come from the educated class, according to the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA).
The study conducted by sociologist Ali Fahmi showed that the majority of those seeking help from voodoo experts were mostly people who had been victims of the economic crisis and hard financial situation.
“Illiterate people go to fakes seeking their help in matters linked with wizardry, impotence, marriage and illness, while educated and sophisticated people go for matters linked with success in work, education, love and incurable illnesses,” said Samia Al Saati, a sociologist at Ein Shams University.
The study report cited psychologists as attributing these behaviors to cultural vestiges that date back deep in history - Albawaba.com
