ALBAWABA - A Gaza Solidarity Camp organized by students at California University in the United States was disrupted by a pro-Israel individual. The event happened early in the morning when the perpetrator tried to annoy the camp's occupants by shouting loudly.
Social media users captured the moment in which the person - who was carrying both Israeli and American flags - attacked the camp that California University students had established three days earlier. The purpose of the camp was to express support for Palestinians and condemn Israel's continuous bombardment on Gaza.
The disturbance coincides with heightened tensions in Gaza, where Israeli airstrikes have sadly claimed the lives of 66 Palestinians in the last 24 hours. Despite interventions, pro-Palestine demonstrations are still taking place at American institutions.
A Palestinian expert claims that these demonstrations, especially among students, mark a new stage in anti-war movement.
In the video, the pro-Israeli man approached the pro-Palestinian students' tents at 4:30 in the morning and made fun of them loudly using comments from their mobile, yelling things like 'wake up, communists'.
Another video that has gone viral on social media features a woman identifying as American-Jewish who calls the police, saying that pro-Palestinian protesters had surrounded her and prevented her from leaving.
In spite of her assertions, the pro-Palestinian people told her she could go and that no one was following her. The woman insisted, "I am an American Jew, I need help," and continued to try to get the police involved.
