ALBAWABA - Explosions were reported in the French capital, Paris, on Tuesday morning, The Mirror reported.

According to the French media, a van caught fire and exploded, causing a fire as seen in the footage posted on social media. The van blast took place near the French prime minister's offices.

Witnesses said three explosions were reported across the street from the Hotel de Matignon, the official residence of the French PM. However, the reason behind the fire is unknown, and a probe is underway.

The fire happened as incumbent prime minister, Sébastien Lecornu, is expected to hold meetings one day after his resignation.

No injuries have been reported in the car explosion, baut firefighters said that they quickly put out the blaze in the center of Paris.
