ALBAWABA - Tensions and attacks continue in Yemen and the Red Sea, the United States and the United Kingdom announced targeting 36 Houthi positions in Yemen.

The US-led coalition revealed that it had attacked dozens of Houthi targets across 13 locations in Yemen.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin explained that the airstrikes "are intended to further disrupt and degrade the capabilities of the Iranian-backed Huthi militia to conduct their reckless and destabilizing attacks."

In return for Saturday's attacks, the Houthi group vowed to strictly respond to the US and Britain's targeting of dozens of positions. Houthi said airstrikes "will not deter us".

The airstrikes come in response to ongoing Houthi attacks on US and UK ships as well as vessels that are directly or indirectly linked to Israel. Yemeni rebels' attacks on ships in the Res Sea aim at showing support to Palestinians amid Israel's war on Gaza which killed at least 27,238.

The Palestinian health authorities in Gaza added that 66,452 others were injured since the start of offensive attacks on Oct. 7.

Furthermore, the attacks on Houthis came days after the US announced airstrikes on 85 targets across seven locations in Iraq and Syria on Friday in response to the death of three American soldiers in an airstrike on Tower 22 base in Jordan, CNN posted.

The US government said that the attacks were targeting Iranian-backed militias in Syria and Iraq leading to the death of many.

Earlier, Biden said in a statement: "The United States does not seek conflict in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world. But let all those who might seek to do us harm know this: If you harm an American, we will respond."

Today, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance is preparing to mourn those who were killed in US Friday attacks on Iraq.
