ALBAWABA - The democratic US Senate has recently approved a $95.34 billion aid package for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan after voting took place where 70 said yes and 29 said no, according to The Guardian.
The decision came after Joe Biden's constant calls to send aid to American allies including Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel amid the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023. Ukraine officials voiced their concerns about Russia's constant attacks with renewed weapons as they are suffering from a shortage in weaponry.
Israel's ongoing aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7 has resulted in the killing of more than 28,000 Palestinians, many of whom are children. Additionally, more than 66,000 Gazans were injured as of writing this article.
US Senate passes $95 billion aid for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan
The Guardian reported that both the House of Representatives and Senate must pass the legislation before Joe Biden signs it into law. Republican Speaker, Mike Johnson claimed that it's a long shot for the bill to be passed by both houses.
Johnson added on Monday, “In the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters” and that “America deserves better than the Senate’s status quo”.
