US Secretary of State Colin Powell is expected to arrive in the Egyptian capital of Cairo Tuesday in the framework of a regional tour that would also take him to Jordan, Morocco and Israel, American diplomatic sources said on Saturday.
The sources told the Kuwait News Agency that Powell would hold talks with Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak on efforts to tackle the explosive conditions in the Palestinian occupied territories.
US President George W. Bush has decided to send Powell to the Middle East region in response to increasing Arab demands for a more active role to stop the bloodletting. (Albawaba.com)
