A US commercial plane has been stuck in Southwest Iran for three weeks after making an emergency landing, Reuters reported on Sunday.
The plane is stuck near the city of Ahvaz after suffering technical problems, according to the country’s director of airports.
"After landing, the crew traveled on to countries around the Persian Gulf and the plane is currently being repaired," Mahmoud Rasoulinejad told the news agency.
It was unclear who operated the aircraft or the nationalities of the crew and any passengers.
Ahvaz, situated near the border with Iraq, lies in a key oil-producing region.
In December last year, Iran captured a US reconnaissance drone flying in its airspace. Iran responded to US calls for it to be handed over by promising to send a small pink model of the drone to US President Barack Obama.
