A US drone killed three suspected members of al-Qaeda last night in Yemen, reports AFP.
The attack was carried out in the Markha district of Shabwa in southern Yemen, making it the second drone strike in two days.
In January, US President Barak Obama vowed to continue the air campaign against al-Qaeda in Yemen.
Earlier this month a US drone killed Harith al-Nadhari, a top al-Qaeda official.
But al-Qaeda is only one part of the equation which has caused widespread instability in the country.
Yemen has been bitterly embroiled in conflict since Houthi rebels staged a coup in the capital city of Sanaa, taking control of the country by dissolving the parliament and establishing a rebel-led security force.
The country's President, Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, claimed he was forced to resign from his position, but later reasserted his authority as the Yemen's leader.
He is now set to meet with the UN envoy to Yemen to discuss the country's future.
