ALBAWABA- Yemeni media report that a joint American-British airstrike has hit the Al-Tuhayta district in southern Hodeida governorate, located along the Red Sea in western Yemen.

The latest airstrike on Yemen's Al-Tuhayta district follows a month of intensive US-UK raids targeting various regions in the country.

On November 9, 2024, the United States and the United Kingdom conducted offensive strikes in Yemen, including the capital Sana'a, according to Houthi-run Al Masirah TV.

The Pentagon stated the raids targeted advanced weapons storage facilities used to attack military and civilian vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Al Masirah TV reported strikes on Sana'a, the northern Amran governorate, and other areas, with witnesses describing the sound of heavy aircraft and explosions across Sana’a. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Since January, the US and UK have repeatedly conducted strikes in Yemen, aiming to prevent Houthi attacks on Israeli-linked commercial ships in the Red Sea.

In July, airstrikes in Hodeida province reportedly killed at least 16 people, according to the Houthis. The escalation highlights ongoing regional tensions and concerns over maritime security.
