ALBAWABA - As part of its operation against drugs, the United States military conducted new airstrikes against three boats in the Pacific Ocean on Monday, US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM).

In a post on X, SOUTHCOM said in a statement, "On Dec. 15, at the direction of @SecWar Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted lethal kinetic strikes on three vessels operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters."

It added, "Intelligence confirmed that the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and were engaged in narco-trafficking."

The attack killed eight people, bringing the death toll for those who have now been killed in strikes on suspected drug boats as part of the Trump administration's Operation Southern Spear, against curtailing narcotics trafficking, to at least 95 people.
