Unknown armed men bombed a gas pipeline in central Algeria Saturday night and damaged its safety valve, security sources told the Algerian press agency Sunday.

They said the attack targeted the part of the pipe stretching through Omar town in Buwaireh state, 100 kilometers east of the capital, Algiers. Teams from the state-run energy and gas company were repairing the damage. This is not the first time a gas pipeline is sabotaged allegedly by Islamist militants who have been at war with the authorities since 1992. (Albawaba.com)
