English Premiership champions take commemorative sword back to
Old Trafford after visit to Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel.


Manchester United made another addition to the glittering trophy room at Old Trafford during the club’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia.

The English Premiership champions were presented with a commemorate sword to mark their first ever visit to Riyadh by the management of Al Faisaliah Hotel, A  Rosewood Hotel from the award-winning Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and his star-studded squad stayed at the hotel for four nights while in the Saudi capital to play a benefit match against Al Hilal Club for Saudi legend Sami Al Jaber.

Ryan Giggs, the United skipper, was joined by team-mates including Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Michael Carrick as he received a commemorative memento from the management of Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel which is also known for garnering awards and recognitions for its legendary service. At the 2007 World Travel Awards it was named as Saudi Arabia's Leading Hotel, while the hotel’s Royal Suite was also voted the best in the Kingdom.

“It was an honour for Al Faisaliah, A Rosewood Hotel to host one of soccer’s truly world-class teams and be a part of honouring Sami Al Jaber,” said Hussein Hatata, Vice President, Hotels Division of Al Khozama Management Company. 


“Manchester United are a great ambassador for the game and for them to honour Sami Al Jaber with so many of their international players was a tremendous sign of respect for what Al Jaber has meant to the Saudi soccer fans during his career”, Mr Hatata added.
