Under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Trustees, Abu Dhabi University celebrates the graduation of its second batch in Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies. The second graduate batch includes 254 students amongst which 52 are honored students, 105 locals, and 149 are expatriates.
The graduation ceremony will be attended by a number of Sheikhs, ministers, high-ranking officials, diplomats, and academic leaders in the country. The ceremony will take place at 11 am on Monday 11th of May at the University’s Auditorium in Abu Dhabi.
Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, the ADU chairman of the Executive Board, mentioned that the university is proud and honored for the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and President of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Trustees, which resembles the importance of education for his highness and his awareness of the vital role it plays in developing the country. Bin Harmal added that the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed made Abu Dhabi University become one of the most prestigious academic institutes in the country and the region in general within a short period of time.
Bin Harmal noted that while the university is graduating its second batch, it remains aware of the responsibilities laid on it which is the constant thrive for excellence which the university chose for its strategies related to programs and future plans. Bin Harmal pointed out a number of objectives which have been achieved so far by ADU such as providing a holistic education environment that consists of a student body from over 35 different nationalities, in which national students make up 47%. The university’s strategy also focuses on serving the community needs and the development process in the country through conducting scientific researches that are aligned with the needs of the business market, and it also aims to contribute to the general political agenda of Abu Dhabi’s government and its 2030 vision through its 27 programs which the university currently offers in different fields such as Arts, Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, and other scientific specializations.
Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, the ADU Chancellors, said that the second graduate batch includes 254 of which 56 have graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences, 150 from the College of Business Administration, and 48 from the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences. The chancellor added that all the programs offered at ADU were designed to align with the needs of the labor market in the country, and to help the graduates advance in their careers.
The Chancellor noted that the College of Arts and Sciences offer 4 programs in undergraduate studies and 4 other programs in postgraduate studies. The undergraduate programs include Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Communication, and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences. The postgraduate programs include Master of Arts in Teaching English As A Foreign Language, Master of Arts in Translation, Master of Education in Leadership, and Master of Education in Teaching and Learning.
The College of Business Administration offers 7 undergraduate programs which are Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems, Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. It also offers 4 postgraduate programs which are Master of Business Administration, Master in International Business (Dual Degree from ENPC-Paris), Master of Human Resources Management, and Master of Science in Finance.
The College of Engineering and Computer Sciences offers 7 undergraduate programs which are Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Technology, Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. The college also offers Master of Science in Computer Science.
