UN SECRETARY GENERAL KOFI ANAN ARRIVES IN DUBAI TO RECEIVE ZAYED PRIZE

Kofi Annan, the United Nations Secretary General arrived in the UAE early yesterday morning (6the February) to participate in the Zayed International Prize ceremony where he is to receive the world’s, most prestigious environment prize - the Zayed International Prize for the Environment. He was received at the Dubai International Airport by H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Midfa, UAE Minister of Health and Chairman of the FEA and Dr. Mohammed Bin Fahad, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Prize.

The Zayed International Prize for the Environment was established by Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to acknowledge the environmental commitment of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

It is worth $ 1 million and is considered among the most prestigious environment-related awards in the world.

It is worth mentioning that the Zayed International Prize for the Environment continues to develop and refine its endeavours to promote Sustainable Development. This foundation has held so many functions during the second cycle.
